It’s a great honor for me to give a speech here.

My name is Ouyang Wenhuan. I graduated from China University of Petroleum (East China) in July this year. My major is Resource Exploration Engineering.

I’m now working in the Overseas Project Department in Research institute of exploration and development.

今天能站在这里演讲时我的荣幸。我叫欧阳文欢，今年7月从中国石油大学（华东)毕业,专业是资源勘察工程。目前在研究院的外围所工作。

My topic today is “Innovation will allow enterprises to advance by standing on the shoulders of giants.”

今天我要给大家带来的演讲是:“创新,让企业站在巨人的肩膀上”。

Why do I hold the view that advances in science and technology are the basis of the development of enterprises? The reason may be that, I think, science and technology to an enterprise is what the lung is to the body. In the same way that the nonstop functioning of the lung provides adequate oxygen for the healthiness of the body, the constant progress in science and technology generates the vitality which cannot be without in the development of an enterprise. Basically, science and technology always serves as the primitive productive force.

为什么说科技进步托起了企业的发展?因为科技是企业呼吸的肺,只有通过肺不断的进行张合,科技不断的进步,企业才能得到足够的氧气变得更快更强。无论什么时候,科技都是第一生产力。

During the past decade, Apple, as an iconic enterprise, has transformed itself from its doldrums ten years ago to its present comprehensive revival. The company has been ranked first in the world’s most innovative companies for years running. Apple has been a leader of its kind and has been able to arouse great enthusiasm like religion in its users.

苹果公司从10年前的低迷状态发展到今天的全面复兴，已成为一个标志性企业。公司多年来一直在世界最具创新力的公司中排名第一。苹果一直走在时代前列,并且能在用户中激发起宗教般的热情。

Today, the fact that countless people crowd for a bite of Apple is attributed to the following factors in relation to innovation.

如今,无数蜂拥而至的人想来尝一口的苹果,来源于几个方面的创新:

1. Technological innovation. Apple has combined its own ideas with alien technology and included its software and clever design.

1.技术创新。苹果将自己思路与外界技术相结合,并且加入软件和巧妙的设计。

2. Marketing innovation. Apple sets a higher goal than is required by its users and always offers its users the surprise like the one when a gift is opened.

2.市场创新。高于用户要求,永远给用户拆礼物的惊喜。

Management innovation. The hungry mode of managing sales has made it possible for Apple to stay on the chair: customers are no longer the god.

3.管理创新。饥饿销售的管理模式让苹果一直坐稳了顾客不再是上帝的椅子。

Drawing on Apple’s experience on innovation, the Overseas Project Department has provided technical support on oil and gas exploration for Gabon, Algeria and Myanmar oversea blocks, for which the department has proudly enjoyed favorable recognition from different sources and has been placed among main profitable departments.

同样依靠这几种创新模式, 使得外围所先后为加蓬、阿尔及利亚和缅甸三个海外区块提供油气勘探技术支撑，以一系列的优异成果赢得了广泛好评，成为研究院的主要创效单位。

1. Technological innovation. The multi-disciplinary teams of experts join hands to ensure the quality of technical advantages. We conducted active cooperation with universities and research institutes, and held frequent lectures given by relevant experts from other institutions, thus broadening our horizons and helping us keep up with the time by following the latest theories and putting them into practice.

1.技术创新。多学科专家队伍的强强联手，以人才优势保障技术品质。外围所积极与高校、科研院所开展合作，多次请相关院校专家开展讲座，扩大视野，紧跟步伐，不断掌握最新的理论，以新理论指导生产实践。

2. Marketing innovation. We gained a valuable share in the market with our technical capability and by working in a more meticulous way than Party A.

2.市场创新。以严于甲方的工作态度,雄厚的技术实力,赢得宝贵的市场。

3. Management innovation. The fine team management and development served to stimulate the multiplying effect of cell division. We enhanced our efforts in management and innovated the management mode. We included the evaluation of weekly and monthly plans in the management manual.

3.管理创新。精细化的团队管理和建设，激发出细胞分裂式的倍增效应。外围所管理层加大管理力度，创新管理模式。把周计划、月计划考核纳入管理手册。

Innovation will allow enterprises to advance by standing on the shoulders of giants. In the future, we have good reason to believe that, under the guidance of scientific outlook on development, our institute will have a more brilliant prospect in overseas business.

创新,让企业站在巨人的肩膀上。我相信在科技创新的不断推动下研究院的海外之路一定会更加辉煌。
