When&while的用法区别

while和when都是表示同时，到底句子中是用when还是while主要看从句和主句中所使用的动词是短暂性动作（瞬时动词）还是持续性动作。※从句是含when/while的句子，主句是没有when/while的句子。持续性动词用过去进行时，短暂性动词用一般过去时。

He was walking when I saw him in the street. 我在街上见到他时他正在走路。

She was eating ice cream while/when I was walking with her.

1、若主句表示的是一个短暂性的动作，而从句表示的是一个持续性动作时，两者都可用。如：
He fell asleep when [while] he was reading. 他看书时睡着了。
I met him when [while] I was taking a walk in the park. 我在公园散步时遇到了他。

2、若主、从句表示两个同时进行的持续性动作，且强调主句表示的动作延续到从句所指的整个时间，通常要用 while。如：
Don’t talk while you’re eating. 吃饭时不要说话。
I kept silent while he was writing. 在他写的时候，我默不作声。

3、若从句是一个短暂性动作，而主句是一个持续性动作，可以 when 但不用 while。如：
When he came in, I was listening to the radio. 他进来时，我在听收音机。
It was raining hard when we arrived. 我们到达时正下着大雨。

4、若主、从句表示的是两个同时(或几乎同时)发生的短暂性动作，一般要用 when。如：
I thought of it just when you opened your mouth. 就在你要说的时候，我也想到了。

至于什么是短暂性动作，什么是持续性动作，其实有个很简单的规律。短暂性动词表示动作一发生就结束，常见的短暂性动词有：对于，填写when还是while的问题，通常首先看主句和从句中的时态，再根据以上4个规律来判断填写那个单词。

一、短暂性动词：短暂性动词表示动作（事情）较短时间结束的动词，不能和进行时态连用。常见的短暂性动词主要有：

arrive in(at)\get to\reach到达；come back\return 归来、回来；land 着陆；leave 离开；go 去；com来see 看见；hear 听到；borrow 借入；lend借出；close 关闭；open打开；begin\start开始；

finish 结束、完成；become (get)变成、成为；lose 丢失；find 找到、发现；fall跌倒、降落；

join 参加、加入；die 去世、死亡；get up起床；go to bed 去睡觉；wake up 苏醒、醒来；buy买；

sell卖；turn on打开（电源）；turn off关闭（电源）…

二、延续性动词：表示动作（事情）延续一段时间完成的动词，可以和进行时态连用。常见的延续性动词主要有：Do做、干；walk 步行；look at 看；look for 寻找；watch观看；listen to 听；wait for 等候；wear 穿（戴）着；talk交谈；play 玩耍；study 学习；work 工作；read 阅读；write 书写；eat 吃饭；sleep 睡觉；keep 保存；clean打扫；cook 做饭；have 有……

三、when“当……的时候”后面的动词一般采用短暂性动词的一般时态；While“当……的时候”后
