Book report on Midsummer Nights Dream With the urge of knowing something about William Shakespeare and his works i read some of his plays recently. During the time of reading i foundthat all the Shakespeare's works have very clear theme, especially the book--A Midsummer Night's Dream. Y ou only need to pay very little attention then you will find that all the book clearly showed one theme that love is a elusive thing.Because of my greatest of difficulty in understanding William Shakespeare's Elizabethan English ,the book i read was a translated one. It was produced by china translation and publishing corporation and translated by Shenghao Zhu, a distinguished translator in Shakespeare work's translation. This drama is divided into five acts which revolve around the adventures of four young lovers, a group of amateur actors and their interactions with the fairies who inhabit a moonlit forest. The opening scene is a complex farce. Helena loves Demetrius the person who loves Hermis. Hermis and Lysander love each other but they can not get together for Hermis' father wants her to marry Demetrius, so they decide to escape from a forest. Meanwhile,Oberon, king of the fairies, and his queen, Titania, arrive in the same forest to attend Theseus and Hippolyta's wedding. They are arguing because Titania refuses to give her Indian page-boy to Oberon for use as his "knight". At the same time,to prepare a play for the duck ,Theseus, and his Fiancée, Hippolyta's wedding a group of amateur actors go to the same forest too. In the following scenes, with a mistake of puck ,the servant of Oberon ,the plot comes to its climax -- four young lovers' relationship become chaos Lysander and Demetrius nearly have a fight with each and Titania fall in love with an ugly ducky-man changed from Botten. After realizing the mistake,Oberon let Puck fix his mistake. Therefor, every character get a happy ending finally. If we read it carefully we will find that the theme of this play is obvious.Shakespeare tried to prove the fact that "love is a elusive thing."
