Vectron'sFX-104isaSAWbasedfrequencytranslatorwhichisusedtotranslateanyinputfrequencysuchas8kHz,1.544MHz,2.048MHz,19.440MHzetc.toanyspecificfrequencyfrom170MHzto777.6MHz.Theinputfrequencydoesnothavetobea50/50%dutycycleandasanexamplecanbean8kHzsignalwithalogichigh"ontime"ofonly1us,suchasaBITSclock.TheFX-104alsohastheabilitytotranslateanyof1to4differentinputfrequenciestoonecommonoutputfre-quency,suchasinputfrequenciesof8kHzand1.544MHzand19.44MHzandanyotherfrequencybetween333Hzand170MHztranslatingthemtoanyspecificoutputfrequencyfrom170MHzto777.600MHz.
The"InputFrequencytrackingcapability"isthetotalamountofinputfrequencydeviationinwhichtheFX-104isguaranteedtotrackortranslate.Asanexample,atypicalinputclockwouldbe8kHz±20ppm.TheFX-104isguaranteedtotrackatleast±40ppmoferrorovertemperature/aging/powersupplyandismorethantwicewhatmostapplicationsrequire.ThePLLcontrolvoltageisbroughtoutthrougha470Kohmresistor.Thiswouldallowfortheuseofexternalcircuitry(analogcomparatorsoranA/Dconverterplusaprocessortodetectwhenthecontrolvoltageisgettingclosetothelimitsofthepullrange.
