四、语法 一般过去时，过去完成时

1. 一般过去时的用法：

1 表示过去某时间发生的动作或存在的状态。

I got up at six this morning. 今天早上我六点起的床。

2 表示过去的习惯或经常发生的动作。

When I was in the countryside, I often swam in the river. 当我在乡下时，我常常在河里游泳。

3 和一般过去时连用的时间状语：last night, yesterday, last week, some years ago, in 1995, in the past, the other day, at that time, just now等。

2. 过去完成时的用法:

1 表示过去某一时间或某一动作之前已完成的动作或存在的状态。

By the end of last term, we had finished all the courses of senior middle school.

2 表示过去某一时间开始延续到过去另一时间的动作或状态。

He had been a teacher for 25 years when he was 50.

3 常与by then, by the last /by the end of last…等时间状语连用。
