Forty-fouramericanshavenowtakenthepresidentialoath.Thewordshavebeenspokenduringrisingtidesofprosperityandthestillwatersofpeace.Yet,everysooftentheoathistakenamidstgatheringcloudsandragingstorms.atthesemoments,americahascarriedonnotsimplybecauseoftheskillorvisionofthoseinhighoffice,butbecausewethePeoplehaveremainedfaithfultotheidealsofourforbearers,andtruetoourfoundingdocuments.
