《典范英语》(6_08)教学参考

The Masked Cleaning Ladies Save the Day

教学参考的目的在于为实验课提供一个基本的思路和框架,帮助实验教师更好地把握课题理念。课题组鼓励实验教师结合学生的实际情况适当做出调整,将实验课上出特色。

一、教学目标

1语言目标:学生能够听懂并理解故事的内容;能够有感情地、绘声绘色地朗读;能够复述故事的主要情节;能够完成与故事相关的写作任务。

2非语言目标:引导学生体会故事的幽默之处;培养学生的观察能力;鼓励学生积极思考、解决问题;培养学生诚实的品格。

说明:语言目标由教师负责检查,确保学生完成任务,达到要求。非语言目标具有开放性,需要教师围绕有意义的话题与学生进行真诚交流,激发学生的学习兴趣和参与热情,让学生在有思想、有内容的开放性语言实践活动中习得语言,树立正确的价值观

二、课时安排

要求学生每周完成一部作品,每周安排一节或两节实验课,课时安排在学生读完该部作品之后。

三、课前任务

要求学生每天朗读15-20分钟,辅以默读。做到听读结合,认真把握和体会故事的内容,并适当积累好词好句。教师对学生的积累作业应有所检查,并举例提示学生积累地道的语句,如:

1 ‘Yes dear,’ said King Harry. ‘But the Carrot Castle team are such cheats.P5

2 ‘Green, I think,’ said King Harry. ‘And his lot can play in red.P6

四、课堂教学基本步骤

1. 导入(Lead-in:启发学生思考

教师提出几个与足球相关的问题请学生回答如:

Have you ever played in a football match?

Who usually appear for a football match?Cheerleaders, coaches/trainers, players, referees, spectators, fans, etc..

然后回到故事情景

In todays story, Princess Jane is going to play a football match. What happens? Lets find more about this match.

2. 情节分析(Plot Analysis:分章节理解故事,启发学生思考

1)教师结合导入提问,提出几个简单的问题,带学生梳理故事情节:

What were the two opposing teams?

Who played in each team? Who was the coach?

Who tricked Princess Jane?

Who discovered the trick?

教师引导学生回顾故事情景:

As the football championship approached, King Harry discovered the opposing team had hatched a plot to win the game. How did he discover the trick? What did he do then? Let’s enjoy the show.

2)教师将学生分成不同的小组,请一到两组学生表演第2章的内容(something odd)。学生可自由选择角色(Princess Jane, King Harry, captains, Mr Goal),制作道具。表演后,教师需及时做出评价,并可进一步设问,帮助学生深入理解内容,如:

What did King Harry and Captain Jones see when they were polishing the cannons?

Why did King Harry want to polish the brass next to the library?

Did King Harry and the captains discover anything?

教师请学生将问题的答案串连起来,即对该章作以总结。同时,引出下一章的内容。

King Harry and Captain Jones saw King Charles of Carrot Castle speaking to Mr Goal secretly. So they kept an eye on Mr Goal. But nothing happened. Princess Jane told King Harry that Mr Goal would give his one last training session in the library without anyone’s interruption. The captains felt very odd so King Harry decided to polish the brass next to the library. They saw Mr Goal swinging a watch on a chain to hypnotize Princess Jane. Captain Smith thought he was trying to help Princess Jane remember tactics.

How did King Harry finally discover the trick? Let’s come to Chapter 3.

3)教师按照以上分组,请学生自由选择角色朗读第3章的内容。要求学生尽量模仿录音中的语音语调,读出戏剧化效果。朗读后,教师可通过提问帮助学生理清发现trick的整个过程以及King Harry的反击。问题可参考:

How did King Harry and the captains discover the trick?

How did they turn the trick against Carrot Castle?

Which team won the game? How did King Charles feel?

鼓励学生自己组织语言回答上述问题。

3. 复述(Retelling锻炼学生连贯表达思想的能力和主动质疑的能力

按以上步骤梳理故事情节后,放一椅子在讲台上,请一位同学坐在椅子上扮演King Harry,以第一人称“I”的口吻简要讲述故事大意。

其他同学发挥想象力向他提问,如:What do you think of the Carrot Castle team? How did you feel when you found Mr Goal hypnotizing Princess Jane? What did you do with the cheat, to disclose it or to use it? 讲台上的King Harry结合自己的理解回答问题,能答出来即可,不一定完全符合故事。(参见英文教案Teaching Notes

4. 讨论(Discussion:培养学生的批判性思维能力

复述后,教师让学生就故事的主题分组展开讨论。讨论后,每组请一位代表发言(可以把以下问题放在PPT上显示出来,让学生分组进行讨论,问题前的关键词语不要在PPT上显示,此处仅供教师参考)

CONNECT What will you do if you find someone who is going to cheat?

RELATE Have you ever cheated before? What did you learn from your experience? Tell your story.

提醒学生进行讨论的规则是:(1)每个人都要有说话的机会;(2)别人讲话说不得打断、干扰;(3)支持并补充他人的观点;(4)如果不想说可以不说;(5)提问要深思熟虑。鼓励学生在该环节畅所欲言。

5. 拼读练习(Phonics Practising培养拼读意识,掌握拼读技能

从下表中选取一组具有相同拼读规律的单词,引导学生发现其中的拼读规律,然后给几个新的含有同一字母组合的单词,以此增强学生的拼读意识也可以选取几组课堂听写,但听写时切勿给汉语让学生写英文。具体数量视课上时间而定。该环节最多占用课堂时间2-3分钟。

6. 语言欣赏(Language Appreciation:体会语言之美

从作品中挑选一些地道的表达方式,让学生感受欣赏。也可以请学生说出自己最喜欢的句子,并简要说明喜欢的理由。例如:

I am going to run a training session for her after breakfast.

That was because you couldnt eat rice pudding without putting most of it down your shirt.

I must dash./The Queen rushed off./She was gone in a flash.

At the moment I couldn't score against a mouse.

Minutes later, dusters in hands, and dressed as the famous cleaning ladies, they were at work tidying the castle.

7. 布置作业(Homework

1)写作(任选一题)

读完本故事,请学生想象King Harry发现简公主被催眠后可能发生的事情:是想办法让简公主清醒,还是取消比赛,还是像故事中那样以智取胜?学生可以发挥想象力,改编故事结局。

根据故事的内容写一篇摘要(summary,不少于100词。

2)读下一部作品,注意体会作品内容,积累生词和好句。

教师自我反思:培养学生的思考能力

教师每堂课后要进行自我反思,反思的问题包括:

1. 提问。我问的问题值得讨论吗?问了多少个问题?什么类型的问题?

2. 讨论。老师和学生讨论了什么?学生是否试图回答了要问的问题?大家进行了很好的讨论了吗?

3. 听。师生相互认真倾听了吗?师生对他人的说法作出回应了吗?讨论中彼此互相尊重吗?

4. 说。师生清楚了解自己的想法吗?有什么好的想法吗?师生在这些想法上能够产生更好的想法吗?每个人都有机会表达自己的观点了吗?谁说得最多?

5. 思考。师生对问题找到答案了吗?答案给出的理由令人信服吗?师生愿意改变自己的想法吗?师生进行了怎样的思考?师生从讨论中学到了什么?师生提升了自己的思考吗?有或没有?下一次讨论什么?下一次讨论的最好方式是什么?师生需要记住什么?
