1.news n. 新闻，新闻节目

该词为不可数名词，a piece of news 一条新闻

No news is good news. 没有消息就是好消息。

[辨析]news, information, message

(1)news 不可数名词，意为“新闻节目，新闻”，指公众感兴趣的近来发生的事件，尤其是通过广播，电视，报纸，网络等报道的事件。

(2)information 不可数名词，意为“信息”，常指通过学习，阅读，查询等方式获得的信息。

(3)message 可数名词，一般指口头传递或书写的“消息，信息”。

2.mind v. & n.

(1)作名词时，意为“心智，头脑”

(2)作动词时，意为“介意，对（某事）烦恼”

常见用法：

[1] mind sb doing sth/mind one’s doing sth 介意某人做某事

Would you mind my opening the door? 你介意我开门吗？

表示“不介意”的答语：No, not at all./Of course not./Certainly not.

表示“介意”的答语：Sorry, I am afraid you can’t./Sorry, you’d better not.
