摘 要 作为世界上应用范围最为广泛的语言，英语的词汇发展过程受到许多因素的影响。本文从环境、历史、宗教、价值观和风俗习惯等几个方面分析了它们对英语词汇的发展所起的重要作用，并用举例的方式列出了相关的英语词汇的引入、变迁和发展过程，以了解词汇的发展规律，掌握词汇发展方向。

Abstract As the world's most extensive range of applications of the language， the English vocabulary development process is affected by many factors. In this paper， several aspects of the environment， history， religion， values and customs， such as analysis of the important role they played in the development of English vocabulary and are listed by way of example related to the introduction of English vocabulary， the process of change and development in order to understand the development of the law of vocabulary， master the vocabulary development. 据统计，当今世界以英语为母语的国家有英国、美国、爱尔兰、加拿大、澳大利亚、新西兰、南非和加勒比海诸国。全球大约有6亿人在讲英语。在政治、经商、文化、贸易、交通运输等领域，英语已经成为主要的交流工具，英语可以称为是一种国际通用语。
归属于印欧语系的英语，在短短的数十年间，取代法语成为国际上应用范围最为广泛的语言，有许多值得我们思考的地方。英语词汇，作为英语的基本单位，其发展过程受到许许多多因素的影响，进而影响了英语语言的发展。现在我们就对这些影响因素逐一进行梳理。 1 环境因素
