3)(listening material) Students are able to grasp the main idea of the telephone conversation, know some detailed information, and familiar with the telephone manner.

Step 1. Lead-in

T: Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Today we will move on to Listening and speaking. Now please look at the PPT, what are the little boy and Xiaoyanzi doing?

T: Yes, the little boy is offering help, and Xiaoyanzi is asking for help. So can you guess what's the topic we are going to talk today?

T: Quite good. Please turn to page 52 and our topic is asking for and offering help.

Stage 2 Pre-stage (8 minutes)

Step 1 present some new words and expressions by using pictures, body gestures, and so on. (4 minutes)
